Serbia look to extend winning streak to 5 in Korea match

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 8, 2018 - Serbia go for their fifth consecutive (and sixth overall) win in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League when they meet winless Korea Satuday in Aix-en-Provence. The Balkan side lead their head-to-head with Korea 8-1 and have not lost to the Asians in four years, since the 2014 FIVB World League.

Head-to-Head
• Serbia (including as Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro) have won eight of their nine matches against Korea in world level major competitions.
• World level major competitions are: the VNL, Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup, World League and Grand Champions Cup.
• Korea's only victory over Serbia came at the 2014 World League (3-0). Serbia won the other three matches against Korea at that 2014 World League (all 3-1).
• Yugoslavia defeated Korea at both the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, when they went on to win bronze and gold respectively.

Korea
• Korea lost in straight sets against France, marking their seventh consecutive defeat at the VNL.
• It was their sixth straight set defeat. They have not lost seven matches in straight sets in a single major world level competition since the 2010 World League (7).
• Korea is the only country without a win in the VNL.
• Korea can lose eight matches in a single world level major competition for the first time since losing 10 matches at the 2015 World League.

Serbia
• Serbia claimed a 3-1 victory against Argentina to record their fourth consecutive win in the VNL.
• The last time Serbia won at least five consecutive matches in a world level major competition was at the 2017 World League (5 in a row).
• Both Serbia's 3-1 wins in the VNL (against Germany and Argentina) came after losing the first set.
• Drazen Luburic, shirt number 16, scored 20 points against Argentina. The second best scorer of the team Srecko Lisinac, with shirt number 20, scored 16 points in that match.
