Renan seeks better performance from Brazil

Melbourne, Australia, June 22, 2018 – Brazil edged Australia 3-0, but coach Renan Dal Zotto is still seeking for improvement in their performance at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

Brazil coach Renan Dal Zotto: "Happy with the result but not the performance. It's great we got back on the winners’ list but our performance still needs to be better.

"Australia came at us strong and it is very good to beat a team like Australia at home, especially they are a team that has been improving game after game.”

Australia coach Mark Lebedew: “The more disappointing thing is not the result but how we played. We didn’t play badly. We fought hard and made them play extra balls. We were good in defence but we didn’t play at the level that we set ourselves in the last 10 days or so.”

Australia captain Paul Carroll: “It’s almost like we preferred to chase them from behind. We played our best volleyball when they were a few points in front. If we started those sets well then we could have won the second or third set, and we’d still be playing right now.”
