Lippmann smothers Brazil 30 times to make 30+ list

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 4, 2019 - Louisa Lippmann of Germany became the fourth player this season to score 30 points or more in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, after leading her side to a stunning 3-2 (21-25, 31-29, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13) over Brazil in Lincoln, Nebraska, Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old opposite bagged 26 kills from 60 swings (43%) and added two aces and two stuffs for a total of 30 points, on her way to becoming the first ever German player to make the list.



Earlier in this year's competition, Poland's Malwina Smarzek (three times, including an all-time VNL high of 41 points), and Italy's Paola Egonu and Indre Sorokaite had also scored 30 points or more.



At a sum of 225 (113+112) points, the Germany v Brazil match was the all-time highest-scoring in the VNL, two points over last year's Turkey v USA game 3-2 (28-26, 25-19, 20-25, 24-26 16-14) also in Lincoln.
