In 1999,
Raphael defended Brazil’s national team in the Junior World Championship and
placed third. In 2004, disputed his last season on Superliga, placing second
with Ulbra (RS). Since then, the setter moved for Russia, to play for Dynamo.
In 2005, took part on the adult national team and won the gold medal in the
South American Championship. In the next year, he moved to Italy and went on to
defend Callipo Desporto. Righ after, playing for Trentino, won the Champions
League in 2011. After a few years in the country, Raphael moved to Turkey in
the season 13/14, defending nowadays the Halkbank Ankara. In 2013, he conquered the Grand
Champions Cup with the national team. He was part of the team that achieved the
silver medal in the FIVB World League and in the FIVB World Championship in
2014. In 2015 season, Raphael was part of the team that played the World League
and helped Brazil to win the South American Game. He was called again to the
national team in 2017 and was part of the team during all season, being
champion of the South American and at the Grand Champions Cup and silver
medalist in the FIVB World League.
