Thailand’s women’s team have never qualified for the Olympic Games, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. However, the team have appeared four times at the FIVB World Championship, with their best finish coming in 2010 when they finished thirteenth.
Thailand first climbed on the podium of the Asian Games in 2014, after beating Japan 3-0 in the bronze medal match. They were twice crowned Asian champions, in 2009 and 2013, and also have three bronze medals in the competition, including in 2015 when they beat Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the third place playoff.
The team made their FIVB World Grand Prix debut in 2002 and haveparticipated in all but the 2007 edition since. Their best ranking is fourth place, which came in 2012. Last year, they finished tenth after pool play in Group 1.
