Russia coach Busato credits team's concentration in win over Cameroon

Yokohama, Japan, September 14, 2019 – Russia beat Cameroon (25-14, 25-15, 25-11) in their opening match at the FIVB Women’s World Cup on Saturday and coach Sergio Busato said concentration was the key for his team.

Russia coach Sergio Busato: "I’m very happy with the result. We have respect for African volleyball and Cameroon is the African champion. I wanted concentration from my team as if they were playing in the Olympic final because Cameroon could change things quickly. We served well today with various types of serves."

Russia captain Evgeniya Startseva: "I am satisfied with today’s result. It was the first match so we were very nervous. We will try to play better in the coming matches."

Cameroon coach Jean Rene Akono Bekono: "Today was a difficult match. We are disappointed. Our level was not good enough. There are strong teams here and we need to learn from them. We need more technical and physical polish."

Cameroon captain Christelle Tchoudjang: "It was a difficult match. We could not show our full potential. We hope to do better tomorrow."
