Lang Ping says China was ready for Dominican Republic's experienced players

Yokohama, Japan, September 18, 2019 – China beat the Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) at the FIVB Women’s World Cup on Wednesday and coach Lang Ping said preparation for the opponent’s veteran players was key to the win.

China coach Lang Ping: 'We made full preparation for today’s match. The Dominican Republic has many experienced players, so we focused on that."

China captain Zhu Ting: "Today the Dominican Republic played well. Our block did not function well and we had some confusion at points, but we were able to win and I am happy about that."

China player Li Yingying: "Today’s performance was as usual for our team. However, my play was not so good in the back row. I need to improve it."

Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: "We had some good moments today. We were aggressive with serve and reception. China’s quick play and defense gave us trouble. When you play matches like this, you need to be 100 percent."

Dominican Republic captain Prisilla Rivera: :It was a tough match. We knew it would be. We knew they were superior to us in many ways including height. We did play well at the start and I am happy about that."
