Hylmer Nascimento: Today we got our energy back

 

Ismailia, Egypt, September 14, 2019 - Brazil reacted at China's attempt to take the game into five sets, for a 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 27-25) that earned the South Americans the bronze medal of the 2019 FIVB Girls' U18 World Championship here on Saturday evening. Here's the reaction from the two sides after the third place playoff:

Brazil coach, Hylmer Do Nascimento: We spent a lot of energy in our quarterfinal against Russia, and that showed yesterday against USA in the semifinals. But today we were riveved, our energy replenished to win the bronze. The international level of volleyball is very competitive, so this team of Brazil needs a lot of hard work. The girls have a long way to go yet.

Brazil captain, Stephany Gomes: Yesterday after our loss to USA we talked a lot. And today we remembered it all, along with all that we have trained for and all the hard work we have put into being here. So provided our best to win this bronze medal.

China coach, Yu Changwen: We were not prepared mentally for this match. My players were still affected by the defeat against Italy yesterday. Some mistakes were the reason that we didn't win the fourth set.

China captain, Wu Mengjie Wu: We made some erorrs that cost us the crucial fourth set that might have allow us to come back into the game.
