Overwhelming superiority in service facilitates China's opening victory

Jiangmen, China, January 7, 2020 - The hosts delighted the tribune with splendid aces as they shut down Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-18) in a Pool A match at the AVC Men's Continental Tokyo Volleyball Qualification on Tuesday evening. Captain Jiang Chuan tallied 16 points including 10 attacks and 6 aces.

Kazakhstan head coach Igor Nikolchenko: At the moment my team might not be strong enough to play in international tournaments since some of the national players are injured. Tonight we failed to accomplish any adjustments to our serving, there was no comeback for us. Congratulations to China, they did better in service and reception."

Kazakhstan captain Vitaliy Mironenk: "It was a good game, congratulations to team China. They are stronger and very good at service."

China head coach Shen Fulin: "Team Kazakhstan is a young team with great morale. They played quite aggressively, pushing us a lot. As it was the first match of the tournament, our coach team were trying to help the players relieve the mental stress. I am happy to see they gradually unloaded the mental burden and I am quite satisfied with the result. We will just go step by step, trying our best to fulfill every match."

China captain Jiang Chuan: "We know that the absence of some major players of team Kazakhstan may have caused a loss to their squad. Over the past few month, thanks to the tight and high-standard training demands by our coach, tonight we took advantage of service and really played our volleyball."
