Tianjin Bohai Bank return to the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship this year for their second appearance in the competition after a seven-year hiatus.
In their only previous appearance Tianjin had ranked 5th in 2012.
Founded in 1993, Tianjin have won a record 11 national league titles - their latest in 2018. Earlier this year they finished runners-up to Beijing Baic Motor, losing the best-of-five final series after only three matches.
However, Tianjin are the reigning Asian champions, following their 3-1 win over Thailand's Supreme Chonburi in the final of the 2019 edition. It was Tianjin's record fifth continental title, after those in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2012. They also have three Asian Club Championship silver medals (2009, 2011 and 2014) plus one bronze (2017).
