Dentil Praia Clube of Uberlandia make their second appearance in the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship this year, after finishing fourth in their debut last year, when they lost the bronze medal match in straight sets to Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul.
Founded in 2008, multi-sport Praia Clube won their only volleyball national Superleague title in 2018. This year they were runners-up to Minas Tenis Clube in both the Superleague and the South American Club Championship.
They lost the best-of-three final series of the 2019 Superleague to Minas after only two matches. Earlier in the season they had fallen to Minas in straight sets in the deciding match of the round-robin South American championship.
However, they do hold two Superleague silver medals (2016 and 2019) and one bronze (2017), as well as two silver in the continental championship (2017 and 2019).
