Li Yingying aims to showcase talent against best teams in Women’s Club World Championship

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, December 1, 2019 – China’s up-and-coming star Li Yingying aims to give character and provide Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club with a competitive edge when they compete against the world’s best teams in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship in Shaoxing, China from December 3-8.

“The Women’s Club World Championship will have the strongest field of teams and stars this year, so what I can do for my team is to try my best to adapt, strive and play with character in every match against these powerhouse teams. I will work hard with my team to win,” Li said.

The 19-year-old outside spiker knows that playing against the best players will help her acquire experience to prepare her for future conquests.

“I hope that I can learn something in the Women’s Club World Championship when I play against strong teams and their stars. This will help me gain experience for future competitions,” Li said.

“It’s really an honour for me and my team to compete at this tournament. It is a great opportunity to train and learn because of the top calibre teams we have here. Our main goal is to gain as much experience as possible and I really hope our fans can support us. I promise that I will do my best in this competition.”

Tianjin Bohai Bank VC coach Chen Youquan applauds the maturity and strong spirit that Li is showing for the club and considers her a great complement to the club’s superstar player Zhu Ting.

“The key player is our captain Zhu Ting. She has trained hard with us for this Women’s Club World Championship. Her experience will definitely be an asset to our team,” Chen said.

“Last season, Tianjin Bohai Bank won second place in the Chinese league. And this year, the players have shown very good camaraderie and motivation. They are all committed to our mission to cultivate excellent players and win championships. With the help of our fans, the team management are confident we can achieve these goals.”

The coach and his team have been busy preparing in the last few months for their participation in th
e Women’s Club World Championship.

“We collected as many match videos as possible, including statistics of our opponents. We did a lot of research and did a lot of scouting on our opponents,” Chen said.

“The six-day tournament will require a very high standard of physical ability, so we put our focus on that. This tournament is a gathering of the best players in the world, so we will try to play our best in each match to give the volleyball fans all over the world the best competition. We will do everything we can to achieve good results.”
