Shaoxing, China, December 6, 2019 – Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul defeated Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club 3-0 (25-21, 25-9, 25-15) on Friday in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Centre.
Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul coach Marco Aurelio Motta: “We are playing better in each match. I think with this performance we deserve to go to the final. It was a really good match. We showed some mistakes but we were able to resolve it easily. We are happy with the win.
Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul captain Kim Yeon-Koung: “I am so glad because this was a very difficult match. The first set was very difficult but we had a good combination and were able to overcome it. I hope we can play better and win.
“I want to congratulate my teammates. We had good cooperation today. I also hope we can get better and better and to be in the final and eventually win the championship.”
Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club coach Fang Yan: “Even though we tried hard, we still experienced a lot of problems physically and tactically. The first pass was unstable and the attack was weak. Anyway, all we can do is to train harder to correct these.”
Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club captain Li Yao: “We were a bit slow to adjust when we faced our strong opponents. We were very inconsistent throughout this match.”
