Shaoxing, China, December 3, 2019 – Igor Gorgonzola Novara prevailed in their encounter with Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club 3-2 (17-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-11) in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Centre on Tuesday.
Igor Gorgonzola Novara coach Massimo Barbolini: “I am really proud of my team because we played against one of the strongest teams in the world and in the end we won. My players did a great job. It was difficult to imagine because we were down two sets but we won. We played a great match. We didn’t change anything drastic in our system, and when we did, then we did it in a better way. This is only the beginning and it’s going to be a tough battle in each match.”
Igor Gorgonzola Novara captain Cristina Chirichella: “We played really good, like how a great team would play. In the first two sets it was difficult but in the end with good block-defence we were able to play good volleyball. This victory is good for us in this World Championship. It will be difficult, but for now it is OK and we will take this win.”
Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club coach Chen Youquan: “In the first two sets we did a good job but in the remaining parts we didn’t do well in service. That’s why we need to focus on strengthening these areas. That’s the main goal.”
Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club captain Zhu Ting: “I think we played well in the first two sets but didn’t have power in attack and serve that’s why we lost the match.
