The 15th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship will return to Brazil for the to the beautiful south-eastern city of Betim, from 3 to 8 December.
Volleyball is a hugely popular sport in Brazil, with a dedicated fan base set to support the home nation at this highly anticipated event.
The teams participating in this year’s Club World Championships are Cucine Lube Civitanova (ITA); Al-Rayyan (QAT); Sada Cruzeiro Volei (BRA) and Zenit Kazan (RUS). Some of the world’s best international athletes will compete for the title of Men’s Club World Champion. Their passion, determination and quality on the court will no doubt inspire the next generation of fans, in Brazil and around the world.
Last year saw Diatec Trentino take gold after an enthralling all-Italian final against Cucine Lube Civitanova. With the level of competition as high as ever, no one can be assured of a place on the podium in this year’s competition.
I am sure we will be treated to many more awe-inspiring matches and strong displays of teamwork, in the true spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
An action-packed five days of matches await us this year. Organisers have been working tirelessly to ensure a fantastic Club World Championships. The FIVB has continued to invest in its TV production, to ensure uninterrupted action wherever fans are watching in the world. Inside the stadium, courtside DJs and instant replays mean that the energy never drops!
Together, we are fulfilling our vision for volleyball to become the number one family sport in the world. The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship is an important step towards achieving this vision and I wish everyone the best of luck for a fantastic competition.
