Lausanne, Switzerland, October 19, 2018 - The FIVB launched the bidding process for the 2019 FIVB Challenger Cup on Thursday. Expressions of interest in bidding for the organisation of the competition should be received by no later than 12.00 (noon) Central European Standard Time on November 9, 2018.

Portugal triumphed over the Czech Republic in the final of the 2018 FIVB Challenger Cup to claim a place in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League
The winners of the 2019 Volleyball Challenger Cup will qualify for the 2020 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League. Portugal claimed a place in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League men's tournament by defeating the Czech Republic in the final of the 2018 FIVB Challenger Cup. In the women's competition, Bulgaria survived a first-set scare and came back to defeat Colombia 3-1 to earn a place in the 2019 Volleyball Nations League.
