Lincoln, United States, June 5, 2019 – Germany coach Felix Koslowski is pleased with another good performance by his team when they faced Brazil in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Tuesday.
Germany coach Felix Koslowski: “It is always a big win when you defeat a national team like Brazil. I think my team showed an amazing fight being down 1-0 in sets and 20-16 in the second set. We never gave up. That was the goal entering the court today. I don’t know why my team always plays very good against Brazil. We already defeated Brazil 3-2 at last year’s World Championship. This was really a great job by my team. Every win is important.”
Germany captain Denise Hanke: “This victory means a lot to us. We wanted to go into each match of VNL - point by point and always starting from 0-0, and taking whatever we can. We played well today. We hope that we can stay at this level.”
Brazil coach Ze Roberto: “First we have to congratulate Germany for the win tonight. We started the game well and we did well in the first set. We had chances to win the second set. At the tiebreak we made more mistakes than Germany. Now we have to think of our game tomorrow against Korea.”
Brazil captain Natalia Pereira: “I think they have very strong spikers, including Louisia Lippman. I think she is one of the best spikers in the world. They played really good, and served really strong. They also have a good defence and that helped them win this game. They are a really good team. We didn’t play so well today, so we need to improve more in the next games. We need to try to win the next two games because we need the points to continue.”
