Lausanne, Switzerland, June 22, 2020 - Louisa Lippmann, Germany's reigning Player of the Year, is the country's biggest asset and regular 'scoring machine' as she continues to make defenders and blockers of her opponents struggle to keep her in check during a thrilling international career.
The 25-year-old opposite was first called to Germany's national team in 2013 and made her debut the next year at the 2014 Montreux Volley Masters. She has been an integral part of the side since, helping the team win a silver medal at the 2014 European League followed by a 9th place at the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship later the same year.
Lippmann has moved around clubs a fair bit - though only twice outside of Germany.
She started out by joining her local club of TG Herford in North Rhine-Westphalia for a bit of athletics, before turning to the club's volleyball team and then moving along to the neighbouring city's PSV Bielefeld.
In subsequent years over the past decade Lippmann hopped across USC Muenster, Dresdner SC and SCC Palmberg Schwerin, winning four consecutive Bundesliga titles with the latter two clubs.
In 2018 she made her first venture abroad, joining Il Bisonte of Florence and emerging the club's top scorer as they finished in the quarterfinals of both the Italian A1 League and the Italian Cup.
After a brief stint in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai Bright Ubest, Lippmann returned to Germany and rejoined Schwerin earlier this year.
Lippmann has been twice named Germany's Volleyball Player of the Year and the Bundesliga's Most Valuable Player.
Most recently she was named opposite of the Dream Team at the European qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games now rescheduled for 2021. Lippmann was also Germany's top scorer at the 2019 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League where she scored 231 points to finish eighth in the ranking despite Germany not qualifying for the Finals in Nanjing, China.
