Get to know: Serbia opposite Tijana Boskovic

Lausanne, Switzerland, May 22, 2019 – Serbia began their 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League campaign well with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-19) victory against the Netherlands on Tuesday. And World Championship MVP Tijana Boskovic, who scored 25 points, is likely to be key to Serbia’s hopes of improving on their bottom of the group finish at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League Finals.

While Serbia were unable to reach the podium the then 21-year-old showed her quality when she was ranked fifth-best spiker and digger.

Should Serbia finish among the medallists in 2019 it will sit alongside the gold medals they won at the Japan 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship and CEV 2017 European Championship.

On both occasions Boskovic was named MVP and in Japan she was at her best in the gold medal match when her 26 points were crucial to Serbia’s victory over Italy.
