2018 World Championship Dream Team on path to 2019 VNL

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 6, 2019 - The eight players on the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship Dream Team continue to wow volleyball fans across the world with amazing performances with their clubs in domestic and international competitions, promising more entertainment when they rejoin their national teams for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, now just over two months away.

Serbia's Tijana Boskovic, who led the Dream Team at the 2018 World Championship as the tournament's MVP, is now leading her club team of Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in both the Turkish League and the European Champions League.

The 21-year-old opposite is Eczacibasi's best scorer domestically with 303 points in the 18 matches she has played in, as well as internationally with 102 points in five matches played. Boskovic has been consistently scoring over five points per set on average across all competitions.

Milena Rasic celebrates Serbia's gold medal at the 2018 FIVB World Championship, where she made the tournament's Dream Team.

Milena Rasic was the only other Serbian player on the 2018 World Championship Dream Team as middle blocker of the triumphant Balkan side - though in club action she plays for Boskovic's crosstown rivals VakifBank Istanbul. Although she's only played in eight matches this season domestically, she still tops the rankings of all middle blockers across the whole Turkish League.

China's Yan Ni was the other middle blocker on the 2018 World Championship Dream Team. The 32-year-old played for the 14th season straight for Liaoning. But although her side finished top of their pool in the first round of the regular season, they were fifth in Round 2 and failed to make the semifinals of the Chinese Superleague.

Alongside Rasic in VakifBank is China's Zhu Ting, who was one of the two outside hitters of the 2018 World Championship Dream Team. The 24-year-old is currently the second-best outside hitter of the Turkish League in overall performance and her side's second-best scorer with 258 points (behind the Netherlands' Lonneke Sloetjes).

Italy's Miriam Sylla, the Dream Team's other outside hitter, moved this season from her old club of Bergamo to Imoco Volley Conegliano, helping the side dominate the table in the Italy's A1 League and continue to excel in the European Champions League where they're pitted against Eczacibasi in the quarterfinals.

The 20-year-old continues to showcase her amazing scoring skills with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, currently chasing table leaders Conegliano in the Italian A1 League. Egonu leads the league's top scorers list with 408 points in 20 matches or an average of 6.28 per set.

Italy's Ofelia Malinov, the Dream Team's setter, is the playmaker of Savino Del Bene Scandicci, currently third in the Italian A1 League, but also through to the quarterfinals of the European Champions League.
