Lausanne, Switzerland, June 16, 2019 - Canada's Sharone Vernon-Evans became the first player this season to break the 30+ points barrier in a single FIVB Volleyball Nations League match, when he scored 31 in his team's 3-1 (25-20, 25-27, 25-20, 28-26) defeat to Poland Sunday in Urmia.
The 20-year-opposite scored 28 points from attach, had 2 blocks and served one ace today against Poland. He is the only player in the VNL on a losing side to have scored 30+.
Vernon-Evans is the sixth player to join the list, after the top five from last season. The all-time VNL scoring record in a single match remains 37 points by China's Jiang Chuan from last year's match against France.
