Tokyo, Japan, June 12, 2019 – Brazil are banking on their win-advantage over Thailand to claim their fourth consecutive victory, while hosts Japan and Serbia are looking for a win in Tokyo at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

Brazil – Thailand (June 12, 2019)
Head-to-Head
• Brazil won 18 of their 19 matches against Thailand in world level major competitions (FIVB Volleyball Nations League, Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Prix and Grand Champions Cup).
• Thailand's only victory over Brazil was at the 2017 World Grand Prix, in straight sets. • Besides the three sets in that defeat in 2017, Brazil lost only three sets in their 18 victories over Thailand (three times 3-1). Brazil claimed 15 straight-set victories over Thailand.
• In last year's VNL, Brazil won 3-1 against Thailand on 13 June. Rosamaria was Brazil's top scorer on 18 points.

Brazil
• Brazil have won their last three Volleyball Nations League matches, against Republic of Korea and United States in week 3 and against Japan (3-1) on Tuesday.
• Brazil have had a VNL winning run of at least four matches once before: nine consecutive victories from 16 May to 5 June 2018.
• Brazil have won at least one set in each of their 10 VNL matches in 2019.
• Ana Paula Borgo Bedani Guedes scored 26 points in the 3-1 win over Japan, at least twice as many as any other Brazilian player.
• Both Ana Paula Borgo Bedani Guedes (152) and Gabriela Braga Guimaraes (165) have reached 150+ points for Brazil in the 2019 VNL. In 2018, Brazil had only one player scoring at least 150 points in the preliminary round (Tandara Caixeta, 231).
• Ana Beatriz Correa has scored 30 points from stuff blocks at the 2019 VNL, at least 15 more than any other player representing Brazil.

Thailand
• Thailand started week 4 at the 2019 Volleyball Nations League with a 3-0 victory over reigning world champions Serbia. Thailand have now won one match in each of the four weeks of playing in this year's competition.
• Thailand have won four matches at the 2019 VNL, already twice as many as in 2018 (2). The last time Thailand won more matches in a world level competition was at the 2012 World Grand Prix (team record 9 wins).
• Thailand could win consecutive VNL matches for the first time.
• The last time Thailand won consecutive world level major tournament matches was in their final two matches at the 2017 World Grand Prix, when they beat Turkey and Italy both 3-0.
• With 14 points in the win over Serbia, Chatchu-On Moksri (114) surpassed Ajcharaporn Kongyot (111) as Thailand's top scorer at the 2019 VNL.
• Nootsara Tomkom is one of the best setters at the 2019 VNL with an average of 7.09 per set.

Japan – Serbia (June 12, 2019)
Head-to-Head
• Japan and Serbia (including predecessors) will meet for the 18th time at a world level major tournament (Volleyball Nations League, Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Prix and Grand Champions Cup). Serbia lead the head-to-head by one victory: nine versus eight.
• Japan and Serbia met twice at the 2018 World Championship. Japan won 3-1 in the second round but Serbia claimed a 3-0 win in the third round and went on to win the world title.
• Serbia won the first set in each of their last six matches against Japan, going on to win the match on four occasions and losing twice.
• In last year's VNL, Japan and Serbia met in their opening match of the tournament. Serbia won 3-0, with Tijana Boškovic and Brankica Mihajlovic both scoring a match-high 21 points.

Japan
• Japan won five and lost five of their 10 matches at the 2019 Volleyball Nations League. In 2018, Japan finished the tournament on seven wins and eight victories.
• Japan have yet to play their first five-setter at the 2019 VNL. In 2018, only Turkey (7) played more five-setters in the VNL than Japan (5) (Italy also 5).
• Yuki Ishii is Japan's top scorer at the 2019 VNL on 152 points. In 2018, Ai Kurogo (158) and Ishii (157) finished as Japan's top scorers in the competition.
• Sarina Koga scored 26 points in the 3-1 defeat against Brazil on Tuesday, at least eight more than any other Japanese player (Ishii next 18). Coming into the match, Koga had netted only 24 points in the 2019 VNL.
