Stuttgart, Germany, June 12, 2019 – The Dominican Republic are looking to add one more another victory to their five total wins, while Germany are seeking to impress on their home court at the Volleyball Nations League and extend their four-match winning run against Belgium.
Dominican Republic – Netherlands (June 12, 2019)
Head-to-head
• Dominican Republic won their first match against Netherlands at world level major tournaments (3-0 victory at the 1974 World Championship), but have lost all their 10 world level meetings with the Dutch since.
• World level major tournaments are: Volleyball Nations League, Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Prix and Grand Champions Cup.
• Netherlands beat Dominican Republic in straight sets in four of their last five world level meetings, with the exception in this run a 3-2 victory at the 2017 World Grand Prix (15 July 2017).
• In their most recent meeting, at the 2018 World Championship, Netherlands did not allow Dominican Republic to win more than 19 points in a single set: 25-19, 25-16, 25-14 in the second round.
Dominican Republic
• Dominican Republic have won five and lost five 2019 Volleyball Nations League matches. In 2018, the team won three of their 15 VNL matches.

• Maret Balkestein-Grothues (17), Lonneke Slöetjes (15), Nicole Koolhaas (14) en Juliet Lohuis (10) reached double figures in scoring against Belgium.
• Marrit Jasper is Netherlands's top scorer in the 2019 VNL with 89 points.
• Juliet Lohuis and Nicole Oude Luttikhuis are among the best servers in the 2019 VNL, averaging 0.37 aces per set each.

• Germany (including West Germany and East Germany) lost their very first meeting with Belgium at a world level major tournament (3-0 at the 1956 World Championship), but they have won all four meetings since.
• World level major tournaments are: Volleyball Nations League, Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Prix and Grand Champions Cup.
• At last year's edition of the Volleyball Nations League, Germany beat Belgium 3-1 on 5 June 2018.
• Germany have won all of their seven encounters with Belgium at the European Championship.

• Germany have four wins and six defeats after three weeks of 2019 Volleyball Nations League play, the same record as they had after 10 fixtures in 2018.

• Kaja Grobelna scored a match-high 32 points against Netherlands on Tuesday, at least 15 more than any other player on the court.
• Britt Herbots (164) is among the best scorers in this year's VNL, with 164 points. Ilka Van De Vyver is among the best setters in the 2019 VNL, averaging 5.08 per set.
• Marlies Janssens has recorded most aces (20) and the highest average per set (0.56) in this year's VNL.
