Sliwka: We show how much we care about winning

Leipzig, Germany, June 26, 2019 - Reigning back-to-back world champions Poland complete their Preliminary Round campaign in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Pool 20 in Leipzig, where they will take on Japan, pool hosts Germany and Portugal from Friday to Sunday. They need a good run of results to progress to the Finals from July 10-14 in Chicago.

In this video, wing spiker Aleksander Sliwka looks back
at one of his favourite moments from the Preliminary Round, an overhead kick which kept the ball in play against the United States in week 1. For Sliwka, who celebrated his 24th birthday last month, commitment is the key. "We want to show our heart, that we give one hundred per cent," he said. "When we play like this we show how much we care about winning and about fighting for every point."

Poland begin week 5 against Japan on Friday, before playing hosts Germany on Saturday and Portugal on Sunday.
USA, who are currently ranked seventh, qualify automatically for the Finals as hosts of the six-team tournament.
