Marcelo Mendez to lead Argentina

 

Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 12, 2018 - The Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA) has appointed Marcelo Mendez to lead the country's men's team until 2024. The news was confirmed after a signing ceremony held in Buenos Aires on Monday.



Mendez currently coaches Brazilian club Sada Cruzeiro, who will participate in the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship from November 26 to Decemeber 2. He led the Brazilian club to World Championship titles in 2013, 2015 and 2016. He will replace Julio Velasco at the helm of the Argentine men's team after the South Americans finished 15th at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Italy and Bulgaria.
