Leal was born in Cuba and got the Brazilian citizenship after defending Sada Cruzeiro (MG) between 2012 and 2018. During this time, he helped the Brazilian team to win everything they played. He was three-time World Club Champion (2016, 2015 and 2013) and runner-up in Qatar (2012) and bronze in Poland (2017), being MVP (best athlete in the competition) in 2015 and best wing spiker in 2013, 2016 and 2017. He was also four times South American Club Champion (2018, 2017, 2016 and 2014) and runner-up (2015). He also was elected the MVP in 2016 and 2017, and the best wing spiker in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. He won four times the Superliga (2016/17, 2015/16, 2014/15, 2013/14) and was runner-up in (2012/13), being the best spiker during the seasons of 2016/17, 2013/14 and 2012/13 and the best player of the final in 2014/15. He also won the Copa Brasil (2014, 2016 and 2018), and the Irvine-USA Tournament (2014) and was six times champion in the “Campeonato Mineiro” (2012 to 2017).
