Belgium aiming to impress in Volleyball Nations League

Lausanne, Switzerland, May 12, 2018 – Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek is hopeful that playing three rounds in Europe will help his team play their best in the Volleyball Nations League.

The Yellow Tigers begin their campaign in Ningbo, China where they face Korea, China and the Dominican Republic. They then move on to Toyota in Japan for the second week to take on the Netherlands, Japan and USA.

Belgium return to Europe for the three final weeks of the preliminary rounds. First they travel to Kraljevo in Serbia, then they go west to Bydgoszcz, before they wrap up week five in Eboli in Italy.

“We see this Volleyball Nations League as a great chance,” Vande Broek said. “By playing these top matches in this context, we have a huge advantage over the other countries against which we later play the European Championship qualification, and of course we also want to stay in the series so that we can also learn at top level in the coming years.

“The selection has been considerably rejuvenated and changed compared to previous campaigns with the aim of building a team for the future.”
