Modena, Italy, June 24, 2018 – Italy conceded in straight sets to the United States on Sunday, ending their bid for qualification to the Final Six of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.
Italy player Salvatore Rossini: “We tried our best to put character in every match we play. We’re not at the same level as Russia or USA, but we’re going to work as hard as we can this summer. We are blown away by the affection the Italian fans have shown to us during these days.”
Italy player Michele Baranowicz: “I think we need some days to rest because this tournament has been long and exhausting. We need to work hard but I’m sure we’re going to be a different team during the World Championship.”
