Morrison: I'm happy with our team's performance today

Toyota, Japan, May 24, 2018 - The Dutch claimed a convincing victory against Japan 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-21) in Toyota on Thursday.

Netherlands captain Maret Balkestein-Grothues said: "We are happy to win. We did a very good job in defense, especially solid blocking. We got a lot of side-out points, then dominated the game."

Netherlands coach Jamie Morrison
said: "I’m happy with our team’s performance today. We’ve learned from yesterday’s match against the United States. From the beginning, we were able to show every skill. If we continue moving in the right direction, we will be able to achieve good results at the World Championship this year."

Japan player Ai Kurogo
said: "We wanted to win this match. We never gave up trying to win, trying to get points one by one. We have to discuss our assignments for the next round."

Japan captain Nana Iwasaka
said: "We made errors first, then were overwhelmed by our opponents. We need to raise the level of our teamwork."

Japan coach Kumi Nakada
said: "It was really a regrettable result. We were eager to win against the Netherlands. We have to discuss what we are going to practise, in order to match the strong teams in the world. We need to learn from the loss of this match."
