Dutch, Serbs in crucial clash in race for VNL finals

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 7, 2018 - The Netherlands host Serbia Thursday in Rotterdam in a decisive match as the race for a ticket to the finals of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League gets tighter and tighter. Reigning European champions Serbia already have a foot through the door of the finals, but The Netherlands dsperately need a win after going down to Italy on Wednseday. This is a rematch of the 2017 European Championship final, which Italy won in four sets.

Head-to-Head
• At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, The Netherlands beat Serbia (including Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro) for the first time at major world level (3-2).
• The women's world level major competitions are: the VNL, Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup, World Grand Prix and Grand Champions Cup.
