Coaches look forward to Men's VNL matches in Osaka

Osaka, Japan, June 7, 2018 - The city of Osaka in Japan will play host to FIVB Volleyball Nations League Pool 10 from Friday to Sunday. The coaches of Bulgaria, Japan, Poland and Italy provided their impressions at a press conference on Thursday.

Bulgaria coach Plamen Konstantinov said: "I want to say I’m happy in Japan. It’s always interesting to play in front of many volleyball fans. I wish good luck to the other teams. For us, it will be important to give some new players more experience at this level of the tournament. We will give our maximum in every game. We also have some problems like other teams, some injuries at the end of the league, but other teams have the same problem. We will just try our best."

Japan coach Yuichi Nakagaichi said: "Looking back on the tournament so far, we are at three wins and three losses, just as I had expected. But we go into this weekend after a 36-hour trip from Brazil. We had a practice today for the first time in this week, but our guys played as usual. All the opponents here are very strong, and have a higher ranking than us. We’d like to gain more experience against tall players."

Poland coach Vital Heynen: "It’s a hard tournament with many matches, but I know we are good to play with these young guys and we can go on. Japan are playing well. We don’t know which of the four teams here is best."

Italy coach Gianlorenzo Blengini: "It’s difficult to know which teams are best here. I told our players to concentrate on their own performance. It’s important to adjust ourselves in such a hard tournament. We changed our roster after Week 2, and it will be the first time some players feature. I believe that our players will make a maximum effort."
