Lausanne, Switzerland, May 20, 2018 – Poland coach Vital Heynen has named a 21-man squad to begin his team’s FIVB Volleyball Nations League campaign.
Michal Kubiak will captain Poland, who begin with a home weekend in Katowice and Krakow against Korea, Russia and Canada, on May 25-27.
“I am very happy with the work done by the players during these few days of training in Spala,” Heynen said. “The short time before the start of the Volleyball Nations League does not allow for experiments, but I assure you that I will observe all those called up this season.
“We’ve lost Damian Wojtaszek to injury, but we are hopeful that he will recover quickly and be able to join us later in the season.”
In the second week Poland again have home advantage when they host France, China and Germany in Lodz.
In the third week they travel to Osaka to take on hosts Japan, Italy and Bulgaria. They then move on to Hoffman Estates near Chicago in week four. There they will play Iran, USA and Serbia, before they wrap up the preliminary rounds in Melbourne, where Australia, Argentina and Brazil are their opponents.
