Murilo was the best player of the World League and of the World
Championship 2010, besides the many trophies with the Brazilian national team.
The wing spiker is two times world champion (2006 and 2010), six times
champions of the World League (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010), two
times champions of the Grand Champions Cup (2005 and 2009), champion of the
World Cup (2007) and Pan-American champion (2007). He has also two Olympic
silver medals, in Beijing (2008) and London (2012). Murilo went through a shoulder
surgery in 2013 and was out of the national team for the hole season. In 2014,
the wing spiker got back to the national team and helped the team to achieve
the silver medal in the FIVB World League and in the FIVB World Championship.
After the recovery of his surgery, Murilo was part of the team that played the
World League in 2015. In 2016, he was part of the team that achieved the silver
medal in the FIVB World League. He was called again for the national team in
2018 in a new position as libero.
