Osmany Juantorena was named MVP of the match as he led defending champions Cucine Lube Civitanova to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-23) sweep of Itas Trentino to wrap up their best-of-five semifinal series after four matches and make the Playoffs final of the 2021 Italian Men's League where they face Sir Safety Conad Perugia.
Having topped the standings in the Regular Season, Perugia will have the home advantage in the best-of-five series of the final, starting on Wednesday 14 April at the PalaBarton.
Juantorena, expected once again to be a leading force for Italy in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League next month, applied pressure on Trentino from the service line delivering two aces and scoring a total of 15 points. Robertlandy Simon, with five blocks and 71% (10/14) in attack for a total 17 points was the high scorer of the match.
Lube has come back in the series after dropping the first match at home to Trentino by taking the next three on the trot - including denying their opponents twice at Trento.
Perugia had already qualified for the final over the weekend with a sweep of Vero Volley Monza in their semifinal series after only three matches.
