Vero Volley Monza became the last team to secure a direct ticket to the Playoffs quarterfinals of the Italian Men's League after a 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-23) sweep of NBV Verona on Wednesday night to close the Regular Season of the competition.
Powered by MVP of the game Donovan Dzavoronok (who shared top-scoring at 16 points with Adis Lagumdzija), Monza secured the win they needed to leapfrog into 4th place and leave Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza to vie for a quarterfinal berth through the Preliminary Round of the Playoffs.
Monza join Sir Safety Conad Perugia, Cucine Lube Civitanova, Itas Trentino and Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia in the last eight. The remaining three spots will be allocated through a best-of-three Preliminary Round.
The match-ups for the Preliminary Round of the Playoffs, for the three spots in the quarterfinals:

In the other of the two matches postponed and rescheduled from earlier in the season that wrapped up the Regular Season, Allianz of Milan beat Consar Ravenna on the road 3-1 (25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18), led by MVP of the match Jan Kozamernik and his 91% (10/11) attacking performance.
The Playoffs are due to start on 21 February with the best-of-three Preliminary Round series involving the teams ranked 6-11 in the Regular Season. They will be vying for the last three berths in the quarterfinals, set to begin on 10 March.
