Lausanne, Switzerland, January 21, 2020 - FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça Fᵒ took to the snow volleyball court this weekend where he participated in an exhibition match alongside volleyball legends.
President Ary Graça, a former indoor volleyball Brazilian national team player and beach volleyball athlete, showed off his skills on the snow, serving and setting, and even diving across the court to keep a rally alive!
Set in the picturesque mountain pass of Bretaye, in the region of Villars-sur-Ollon, Snow Volleyball Festival was an opportunity for hundreds of young people and families to try a cool new winter sport. With an iconic backdrop of the Swiss Alps and DJs providing the playlist, Snow Volleyball Festival created a great atmosphere that attracted interest from across the mountains.
President Ary Graça also welcomed senior members of the Olympic family to Snow Volleyball Festival, where they and their families also tested their snow volleyball skills.
“It was a wonderful experience to take part in Snow Volleyball Festival, and not just watch from the sidelines,” the FIVB President said. “Over the last two days, we have introduced so many people to the sport of snow volleyball. People are excited about this new discipline and I have no doubt it will continue to grow in the coming years.”
