Serbia victorious against Poland

Kortijk, Belgium, June 4, 2019 - World champions Serbia claimed a 3-0 win against Poland in Kortrijk on Tuesday.

Maria Stenzel, Poland: "After five victories in six games we hoped to stay on the same level or even to play better. But it was the contrary. We played a bad game, even if we had two set points in the first set. And our opposite Malwina Smarzek didn't score 30 points, as she was always focused by her opponents. We have to look to our own game and try to do better tomorrow against Belgium. I think we will be motivated to do better than today. We are going to help each other to play our best volleyball."

Katarina Lazovic, Serbia: "We know Poland very well and we expected to win. Even if the Polish players won 5 of their 6 games. We had good tactics: we stopped their opposite and our attack played also very well. It is a victory of the team and we really want to play the Final Six. One of the strong points in our team is that we are young and motivated. We make a lot of fun on and off court. There is a good chemistry in our group, that motivates us a lot."
