Lippmann, Stigrot and Scholzel try a triple block while Dimitrova spikes
Ningbo, China, June 20, 2019 - Germany snatched their seventh victory to conclude their 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League season by defeating Bulgaria 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-13) on Thursday afternoon at Beilun Sports and Arts Center.
Bulgaria captain Gergana Dimitrova: "It was the last game of this competition. It was really sad that we only showed 20 per cent of our average level. Congratulations to Germany."
Germany player Louisa Lippmann: "I think there were some problems in the first two weeks of the Volleyball Nations League, but I am super proud of this team because we made a good job and improved a lot this year. For this summer, of course, we are looking forward to the Olympic Qualification. Actually, doing our utmost is our biggest goal.”
Bulgaria coach Ivan Petkov: “First of all, congratulations to team Germany, they played very well. As for our team, I think we had our worst performance. At this moment, I am very angry, but this is life. We have to continue to prepare the next competition this summer - the Olympic Qualification.”
Germany coach Felix Koslowski: "I think my team really wanted to win this last match. We were tired, 15 matches in 5 weeks, but we tried hard to get back energy as much as possible. It was very hard. I have to make a special compliment to Pia Kästner. Our captain got injured yesterday, so Pia had to lead the team this match. It was not an easy situation and she did very good work. So I am very happy for her."
