Hong Kong, China, June 5, 2019 - Italy celebrated their team's stunning victory over Japan in straight sets, which gives them three wins in a row.

Italy head coach Davide Mazzanti said: "I am glad with our team's performance today. We played a nice match against Japan. We were able to perform our best and stick to the game plan. The result is very important for us in paving our way to Nanjing."

Italy team captain Cristina Chirichella said: "Today the most important thing is that we had the passion. Japan was really good at defense. However, we also played well in blocking and defence. We are happy with today's result as winning in three sets is important for the final ranking."

Japan head coach Kumi Nakada said: "Once again we were fighting against a very strong team. I have always been thinking of how to tackle such strong opponents. We will have further adjustment tomorrow and will certainly do our best."

Japan team captain Nana Iwasaka said: "I think our team performed quite well in the 3rd set today. We will make some adjustment and get ourselves ready for our last match in Hong Kong tomorrow."
