Lausanne, Switzerland, February 10, 2020 - Prior to the second of two international events in Cambodia, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will take a one-week break before February's schedule concludes with a men's-only stop in Phnom Penh.
The Anchor Beach Volleyball Carnival for men will be played February 20-23 in the Cambodian capital city where women's events were held the past two seasons with pairs from Germany and Greece topping the podiums.
The leading pair for the 2020 Anchor Beach Volleyball Carnival in Phnom Penh will be Christoph Dressler and Olympian Alexander Huber. The Austrians won the men's 2019 Anchor Beach Volleyball Carnival Siem Reap event by defeating Maxim Sivolap and Artem Yarzutkin of Russia in the finals.
In action this past Sunday in Cambodia at the Anchor Beach Volleyball Carnival in Siem Reap, Lauren Fendrick and Sara Hughes defeated compatriots Terese Cannon and Kelly Reeves in the 23rd all-American women’s finale on the FIVB World Tour.
It’s the second FIVB World Tour gold medal for Hughes while Fendrick claimed her first title eight months after giving birth to her daughter Willa Jaye. A Rio 2016 Olympian, Fendrick also placed second at the 2017 FIVB World Championships with April Ross in Vienna, Austria.

Also announced Sunday were the dates and sites for the second round of 2020 Continental Cup beach volleyball competition for the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) as the qualification process for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games continues.
A total of 28 African teams will have pairs competing in the second phase of the continent's Continental Cup at seven sites with Freetown, Sierra Leone hosting both men's and women's play March 23-27 on Lumley Beach. Here is the schedule with the countries participating.
