The Club: Imoco Volley

Conegliano, Italy, September 25, 2020 - With a roster that includes some of Italy's highest-ranking stars, such as Paola Egonu, Miriam Sylla and libero Monica De Gennaro, plus acclaimed international heroes Robin de Kruijf of the Netherlands, Joanna Wolosz of Poland and Mckenzie Adams of USA, Imoco are already on track for another stunning season in Italy and Europe.

Imoco were led in scoring by Egonu and Adams as they opened their 2020-21 Italian League campaign with a triumph over Epiu Casalmaggiore in four sets, aiming for the fourth national championship title in their history.

The club, based in the city of Conegliano, just north of Treviso in Italy's northeast, has already claimed the title in 2016, 2018 and 2019. The had topped the Regular Season standings in last year's edition of the Italian League, when that season was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic - but they're still the defending champions.

But they've done even better internationally, stopping Turkish domination after four years running and bringing last year the Club World Championship trophy to Italy for the second time in history after legendary Teodora Ravenna in 1992.

This season, as action restarted in Italy, Imoco have already picked up the Supercup title with a straight-set win over Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio earlier this month.
