Podiums are filled as indoor beach volleyball trophies are handed out in Belgium and Ukraine

 

• Willems & Van der Aa and Bex & Piret provide victorious in Belgium’s Winter Tour Finals

• Hladun & Lazarenko and Gladun & Likhatskyi were top of the Ukrainian Masters podiums

 

Belgium and Ukraine held national beach volleyball events at indoor facilities in Anderlecht and Kyiv last week.

 

BELGIUM

The Belgian Winter Tour Finals were held in Anderlecht over the weekend. Micha Willems & Yentl Van der Aa triumphed in the men’s tournament. They mastered a 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) sweep of the final against Tim Kermans & Zeno Van Hout. In the third-place match, Bram Hertleer & Wannes Van Aelboom produced a 1-0 (21-18) win over Patrizio Lupi & Vlad Frantsuzov.

Men’s results and standings

Annelore Bex & Ines Piret topped the women’s podium. In the gold medal showdown, they achieved a 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) victory over Olga Troshina & Xien Van Snick. Hannelore Brocatus & Hanne Thys defeated Leandra Krummenacher & Federica Giuliani by an emphatic 2-0 (21-13, 21-10) for the bronze.

Women’s results and standings

UKRAINE

The SUNRISE indoor beach sports complex in Kyiv hosted another Masters stop on the Ukrainian national tour last week (pictured in the main photo). Maryna Hladun & Tetiana Lazarenko topped the women’s podium. In Sunday’s final, they claimed a convincing 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) victory over Valentyna Davidova & Olga Mykhailovska. The bronze medals went to Yeva Serdiuk & Daria Romaniuk after they won the third-place match against Inna Makhno & Sofiia Rylova by forfeit.

Women’s results and standings

Maksym Gladun & Richard Likhatskyi lifted the men’s trophy in Kyiv. In the gold medal match, they delivered a 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) win over Vitalii Savvin and Anton Moiseiev. A forfeit result determined the men’s bronze medallists as well. After the withdrawal of Ivan Datsiuk and Ivan Likhatskyi, Oleksii Bublyk and Yaroslav Tymchenko completed the podium as the third-placed team in the final standings.
