FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça Fᵒ this week opened the Croatian Volleyball Federation’s (HOS) new headquarters in Zagreb with European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) President Aleksandar Boričić and HOS President Ante Baković.
The opening of the headquarters marks an important milestone in HOS’ volleyball journey after an earthquake damaged its previous home.
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça Fᵒ said:
‘’The opening of this incredible new home for the Croatian Volleyball Federation is an important moment. From their new home, they can continue their work in building strong national teams which is the key to creating a strong volleyball community.
“I have no doubt that Croatia’s talented athletes will be able to achieve this. The FIVB will always be here to support and empower our National Federations, and I look forward to seeing Croatia’s national teams on podiums in the years ahead.”
CEV President Aleksandar Boričić said:
‘’These new headquarters will provide amazing working conditions for the Croatian Volleyball Federation, and now they need to produce great results on the field of play. I expect to see the Croatia women’s national volleyball team progress very well in the upcoming EuroVolley and achieve some great results!”
The new offices were refurbished with the financial help of the CEV and the support of the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Croatian Olympic Committee and city of Zagreb. Today’s guests were welcomed by HOS President Baković, alongside Vice-President Petar Sprčić, Secretary General Valentina Bifflin and Board member Vlado Bagarić.
HOS President Baković said:
‘’We have been searching for our ideal new home ever since our previous offices were destroyed in an earthquake. We are delighted to now welcome everyone to our beautiful new offices which we started refurbishing four months ago. This will allow us to work even harder to develop volleyball in Croatia and I believe our players will soon make us proud on the international volleyball stage.”
The new and modern headquarters span over 350 square metres and were also visited by State Secretary for Sport Tomislav Družak, Director of the Sports Division at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport Krešimir Šamija, Croatian Olympic Committee President Zlatko Mateša, scientist Dragan Primorac, captain of the Croatia women’s volleyball national volleyball team, Samanta Fabris, and CEV and FIVB Board Member Zdeslav Barač.
