FIVB President meets Prime Minister of Croatia

 

FIVB President Dr Ary S Graça F° this week met with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) President Aleksandar Boričić, Croatian Volleyball Federation President Ante Baković and Croatia's Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac during a visit to Zagreb, Croatia.

The FIVB and CEV Presidents are currently visiting Croatia which will jointly host the 2021 edition of CEV EuroVolley Women with Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria on 18 August - 4 September 2021. Meanwhile, Croatia was also selected as the host of the Volleyball Challenger Cup 2021, the qualifying tournament for the Volleyball Nations League, before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on international travel.

The high level officials also discussed the challenges that sport and volleyball have faced and overcome over the past year. In addition, Prime Minister Plenković noted how the Government of Croatia has supported the sports sector during these difficult times.

In addition, the future development of volleyball in Croatia, along with the further strengthening of the image of Croatian volleyball and its return to the elite-level of European volleyball was discussed.
