Another new team on the FIVB World Tour, the Russians will be seeded 31st in the World Championships. While Liamin has never played in the World Championships, Barsouk competed in five-straight worlds from 2003 through 2009. He collected the silver medal at the 2007 Gstaad Worlds with Igor Kolodinsky. Barsouk and Liamin ended the 2014 international season with a bronze medal finish at Chinese stop in Xiamen. The world tour’s most improved player in 2007, Barsouk competed in the Beijing 2009 with Kolodinsky where the Russians were eliminated in an “exciting” three match with Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos of Brazil. Barsouk and Kolodinsky netted Russia’s first two gold medals on the FIVB World Tour in 2008 (Klagenfurt) and 2009 (Kristiansand).
