Olympic gold medallist Kerri Pottharst was no stranger to Sydney's Volleyfest fever. Weather was forecast as the toughest competitor, And everyone needed to be fighting form. Australia’s Phoebe Bell looks poised and ready for the weekend’s play. Fellow Australians Mariafe Artacho/Jessyka Ngauamo enjoyed opening day victory (21-12, 22-20) against New Zealand’s Danielle Quigley/Micah Brown. Scotland celebrated a historic day as Lynn Beattie/Melissa Coutts defeated Australia’s Sarah Battaglene/Stefanie Weller, 2-1 (20-22, 21-16, 15-9). Volleyball Australia streamed Friday’s matches, With coverage going all the way onto the final stretch. It was a good day for the home teams in Sydney, and an even memorable one for Olympian Lou Bawden.
