Host Cities and Venue

Durban is the third largest city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is also the largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and on the east coast of the African continent.

It forms part of the eThekwini metropolitan municipality and is famous for being the busiest port in South Africa. It is also seen as one of the major centers of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches.

The municipality of Durban has a population of almost 3.5 million although the metropolitan land area of 2,292 square kilometers (885 square miles) is comparatively larger than other South African cities, resulting in a somewhat lower population density.
