Natalia Malaga: "It is a huge step"

 

León, México, July 12- Peru’s head coach Natalia Malaga said that it is a huge a huge step this first victory after beating the current champion China 3-2 (29-27, 18-25, 25-20, 20-25, 19-17) this Friday at the FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship in León, México.

Kiara Montes, Peru’s best scorer: “Our hearts are in our hands after this match. We have fought so much, we need to work on the mistakes that we had today in order to not repeat them against next rivals. The audience was amazing, that feeling of being supported by another country is inexplicable.”

Natalia Malaga, head coach of Peru: “It is a huge step the one that we had against a so respectable rival as China is. This is just starting, we need to focus on the next matches to achieve our goal of being in Aguascalientes for the next stage of the World Championship.”

Shi Hairong, head coach of China: “Today every player had some technical mistakes, we need to work on them for the next matches. Tomorrow we have to do a better job at the game against Poland.”
