Australia wins its first match

Bari, Italy, August 11, 2019 – After its first two good matches, Australia won the third against Cameroon 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18).

Mark Lebedew, Australia coach: "After losing yesterday, finding concentration today was not easy, however we can count on athletes who are great professionals and we want to give the maximum. Now we have a break and then we have to face an Asian tournament after which in January we will continue with the qualifications."

Mayam Reniof, Cameroon coach: "These days in Bari were very important for us. The organisation was impeccable and we congratulate everyone. Regarding the matches, it is clear that we came to a group in which there were great teams, we hope that this experience will help us to improve our level. Unfortunately Kodi was not one of ours due to an injury, he is certainly one of our best athletes and I believe he will soon be back with us. The path for these qualifications is now very difficult, but we will do our best to get to Tokyo in 2020."
