Santarelli: “Balance was key to win”

Shaoxing, China, December 3, 2019 – Imoco Volley Conegliano debuted with 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21) victory against Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Centre on Tuesday.

Imoco Volley Conegliano coach Daniele Santarelli: “The key to our victory was our balance because in the first set we played good in side-out and not in block, but balanced that in the second set. Our attitude is important for our team. I know that we have to push hard in every match. It’s difficult to play a team like Eczacibasi but the first set for me is a display of our strength.”

Imoco Volley Conegliano captain Joanna Wolosz: “We played really well, our block-defence system was really good. We were mixing our game and we made a good job in general. I think we could still play better but it was still good for the first game. We are also so happy that we won because playing with Eczacibasi is never easy. It was the best way to open this tournament.”
